Standard Motor Products offers its full-time benefit-eligible employees a comprehensive benefits package with flexible options and the freedom to customize each benefit to meet individual needs.
Standard offers employees and their eligible dependents a choice of three plans for Medical coverage administered by Anthem BlueCross BlueShield beginning on the first day of employment.
Our Dental plan is provided by Delta Dental’s PPO PlusPremier, and allows employees and their eligible dependents to see any dentist they choose and receive benefits equal to a percentage of covered expenses after satisfying an annual deductible.
All full-time employees are eligible to participate in the Health Care Flexible Spending Account (HCFSA) and/or the Dependent Care Reimbursement Account (DCRA). The HCFSA allows employees to pay for qualified medical expenses with pre-tax dollars, while the DCRA allows the same for qualified dependent care expenses (until your child reaches age 13). You must reelect this benefit every year during the Annual Open Enrollment period if you wish to continue with pre-tax savings in the following year.
Employees enrolled in the HDHP medical plan can choose to contribute to an HSA instead of an FSA. This account offers many of the same benefits as an FSA with additional tax-saving and spending incentives, including the option to invest funds after the account has reached the minimum balance. Funds rollover each year and accumulate, and the account is portable if you ever leave SMP.
Standard offers a 401(k) savings plan including a company contribution to assist employees in saving for retirement and attaining financial goals. All employees are eligible to participate on the first day of a new quarter following 30 days of employment. Contributions may be made up to 90% of earnings to the Plan on a pre-tax basis (up to the maximum allowed by the Internal Revenue Code), provided taxes and deductions are covered. There is a diverse selection of funds in which to invest.
Standard provides regular, full-time employees with a Group Term Life insurance policy of two times the employee’s annual earnings. This company-paid group life insurance is provided through Cigna Group Insurance. In addition to the company-provided life insurance, we offer supplemental insurance for employees to purchase to increase coverage up to an additional two times their annual earnings. Spouse life and child life insurances are also available as well. Check with your local HR Department for more details.
Short-Term Disability insurance is provided to full-time employees (at a minimal cost for NY employees), with a benefit amount of 50% of your base weekly earnings, capped at $170/week. To supplement your income while on STD, SMP also offers a salary continuation program that will continue to pay your salary based on your eligibility. Long-Term Disability is also provided at no cost to employees, and pays 60% of an employee’s annual salary.
In support of our employees’ continued education, Standard provides financial assistance for educational development through a tuition reimbursement program. Check with your local HR Manager to determine the terms and conditions of eligibility.
One of the ways Standard recognizes employee dedication and service is to provide paid vacation time to all regular full-time and part-time employees. Vacation entitlement increases based upon years of service.
Employees receive a minimum of 10 paid holidays. Check with your local HR Manager to verify which holidays your facility recognizes.
Voluntary Vision Coverage through Anthem’s BlueView Vision Plan is available to full time employees and their eligible dependents. Coverage under this plan allows those enrolled to receive care from participating Anthem providers and out-of-network providers with low copayments, and provides discounts on lenses/frames or contact lenses.
As an optional supplemental policy to primary insurance, this 24-hour protection plan pays for eligible expenses incurred from covered injuries or accidents that happen on or off the job. Standard Motor Products employees, their spouses and children are eligible to purchase coverage.
This benefit is offered through Aflac and it pays a lump sum benefit upon diagnosis of a covered illness. Guaranteed issue is available for employee coverage. The plan is also available for spouse and children.
